The Role

Reports to: Director of Insight & Development

Direct reports: Marketing Manager and Digital Marketing Manager

Team of 16 people with scope to grow

Location: Flexible

Salary: £75,000

As CMI’s Head of Brand, Social & Marketing, you will have the unique responsibility to develop and deliver CMI’s Brand and Marketing strategy with the objectives of significantly raising our brand awareness across audiences and dramatically increasing the conversion of our members and learners by achieving cut-through and emotional engagement.  You will ensure this strategy is embedded and executed consistently throughout traditional and digital channels.  You will have the opportunity to shape and grow both the department and the budget in line with your strategy.

About the role

  • Directly accountable for the overall brand and marketing strategy for CMI and the subsequent creation and execution integrated campaigns across key audiences
  • Responsible for setting the strategy for CMI’s SEO, social and paid media and all other aspects of digital marketing. 
  • Accountable for execution of CMI’s marketing strategy including product marketing, email marketing campaigns, sales collateral, sales campaigns, SEO, paid digital media, social media and design.
  • Establishing metrics for measuring brand awareness and campaign effectiveness against KPIs to ensure maximum ROI.
  • Manage agency relationship and significant seven figure budget to maximise impact and ROI.
  • Partner with CMI’s web,  product, member, sales and engagement teams to define customer journeys and campaigns that drive awareness, engagement, leads and conversion.
  • Work closely with with Policy and PR teams to ensure consistent content, messaging and communication
  • Create and define digital marketing best practices and to deepen the organisation’s understanding of who our audiences are, their wants/needs, and how they behave.
  • Support high priority, high impact projects

About you

  • Demonstrable experience of working in brand strategy, and a proven track record of developing actionable strategies that drive growth and brand equity
  • Demonstrable experience working with start-ups / scale-ups to build successful brands online in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Strong understanding of the platforms, channels, and strategies/approaches that will enable the brand to reach all relevant audiences
  • Firm grasp of end-to-end digital marketing strategies
  • Strong expertise in developing and driving social media strategies and campaigns
  • Proven track record of working cross-functionally and deliver successful outcomes as a team
  • Ability to exert influence at different levels and build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Excellent communication and editorial skills
  • Ability to translate data into meaningful and digestible insights
  • Ability to work at pace, multitask, work under pressure and meet deadlines 
  • Ability to innovate and develop creative solutions to complex problems
  • Is entrepreneurial, innovative, and “thinks outside the box”
  • Low-ego, task driven, focus on results and delivery
