We are experiencing high growth here at JD Sports with a 64% YoY uplift in group revenue for H1 2021 in comparison to H1 last year, so it's a very exciting time to join us as we continue to expand globally.

In our online multichannel department in the UK alone, we've scaled up our headcount in the past year by 170 people and we are now looking to increase this by a further 300+ over the next 12 months to accommodate our growth. Outside of the UK, we’ve also been accelerating our growth throughout Europe from our local offices in Amsterdam and Alicante.

As such, they provide us with leading industry insights and training, and we are often chosen as the beta trialists for new cutting-edge features that they are planning to roll out. In our Multichannel department we cover everything in the online and digital space and run everything internally through our world-class inhouse functions spread across: Digital Marketing (Paid Media, SEO, CRM, Affiliates, Influencers, Social, Content), Ecommerce (Online Trading, Online Visual Merchandising), Tech (Software Development FE/BE Stacks, App Development, Data, Security, UI/UX), and Studios (Design, Artwork, Retouch, Photography, Videography, Styling).

Reporting to – Group Performance Optimisation Director

This role includes leadership of a team of 3 senior group performance heads of, covering affiliates & partnerships, paid media and SEO.

You will help to drive the strategic vision for the Multi-Channel dept and facilitate effective cross channel solutions to grow the business, drive sales, and meet all business objectives.

As a Performance Associate Director, you will:

·Play a key role in the development of cross-channel planning, forecasting, attribution, reporting and optimisation strategies

·Focus on continually identifying areas for improvement and testing

·Ensure eCommerce best practice is adopted across all disciplines

·Be proactive in the ecommerce space – keeping up to date with trends, market insights and new opportunities

·Lead weekly performance and status calls/meetings with internal teams and key partners

·Manage the finance process, report on weekly / monthly budgets and spends across all eCommerce channels

Key Areas of Responsibility and Accountability:

·Strategic and Leadership Skills

·You will need an analytical mind, always questioning the data and outcomes

·You’ll be confident in pushing for performance from a business results position, but also from our teams

·You will have regular contact, with Multi Channel Senior Leadership team and will be the day to day contact for Performance Media.

·You should have previous experience in managing senior team members – objective setting, task prioritisation, motivation, and appraisals

·Accountability of key performance metrics including Traffic, AOV, COS, CPC, SALES

·Lead and manage the budgeting and forecasting process with ownership for delivery of the paid performance marketing strategy.

·Own the digital marketing strategy across all performance marketing channels (PPC, Affiliates, Display, Paid Social, etc.),

Skills, Behaviours and experience required:

·Digital channel generalist

·Experience in working with martech tools such as Google Analytics, Appsflyer, Power BI.

·Willingness to learn new tools, frameworks and channels

·You’ll have proven skills ideally obtained within the sporting, fashion or apparel sectors – but most definitely within eCommerce

·A solid understanding of PPC and Paid Social with a focus on performance and eCommerce

·Knowledge of site analytics and reporting tools

·People/Team Management


• 5 years’ experience working in a senior digital role, with previous hands-on experience of at least one paid media channel – PPC, Display, Affiliates, Paid Social,

• Team management and development experience

• Highly analytical, commercial and action focused.

• Experience of GA and wider analytics tools

• Advanced excel skills, comfortable with importing database feeds into excel, joining data and using pivot tables & look ups

• Good presentation skills

• Strong commercial insight, with the ability to manage a large budget

• Solid planning and organisational skills, with an eye for detail, whilst maintaining a high-level view

• An understanding of how key paid and organic digital channels operate and work together

• Experience of leading, developing, and motivating a team in a complex, fast-paced and changing environment

• Strong communication skills, with the ability to influence, collaborate, and build relationships at the highest levels across an array of internal teams and external partners

• You will be able to effectively analyse data to draw meaningful conclusions and strategies
