Organisation My client is a rapidly growing, private equity-backed SAAS / Tech business based in Oxfordshire. In line with their strategic growth plan, they are looking to bolster their commercial function by adding a Chief Sales & Marketing Officer (CSMO) to their senior leadership team. The Role Reporting to the CEO, the CSMO will oversee all sales and marketing operations of the company and develop and deliver its sales and marketing strategy, vision and goals. As a member of the Executive team the CSMO is responsible for the company's core sales and marketing strategy and shares the responsibility of Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) growth. You will lead a team of enthusiastic sales and marketing professionals including the Sales Director, Marketing Manager and Communications Manager and will direct our sales and marketing efforts towards great success. In summary, you will: – Create and own the go-to-market strategy for new products & features to deliver the ARR growth target, and "Listen" to the trends of the market and direct the market research efforts of the company – Implement new sales and marketing strategies helping deliver against growth ambitions – Work closely with Sales, Marketing and Development teams and external partners to input into product roadmap – Plan and organise sales and marketing functions and operations (sales, product development, branding, communications etc.), and ensure they project the company's unique "voice" – Design and coordinate promotional campaigns, PR and other marketing efforts across channels (digital, press etc.) – Build a highly efficient team of sales and marketing professionals – Create a solid network of strategic partnerships – Own the sales and marketing budget as well as conduct forecasts – Measure the performance of all sales and marketing activities and campaigns, assess them against goals (ROI, Key Performance Indicators) and adjust strategy & activities to achieve them whilst reporting analysis in a consistent and understandable format at board level – Drive the digital marketing positioning (Website, SEO, SEM, Social and other Digital campaigns)
The Person The successful CSMO will: – have a broad experience of leading both sales and marketing in a SAAS / Tech business where driving Annual Recurring Revenue is a major focus – be experienced in developing efficient strategies and business plans for all sales and marketing aspects (branding, product promotion, forecasts etc.) – have a solid understanding of market research and data analysis methods – have the ability to apply marketing techniques over digital (e.g. social media) and non-digital (e.g. press) channels – be a true leader with both analytical and creative capabilites
